There are very few recreational opportunities for disabled people to enjoy and even
fewer outdoor recreational opportunities. KISMIF’s primary focus is the outdoors. It is one of a few non-profits in the country that provides quality outdoor recreation for disabled individuals. There are currently no other programs of it’s kind in Nevada.
There is an overwhelming need for a dedicated building that provides comprehensive resources for individuals with disabilities, including:
Information resources
Outdoor and indoor sports and recreation programs and activities
Support for disabled and their families
•Advocacy (the rights of disabled individuals need to be protected)
•Legal and accounting assistance
•Home modification grants and assistance•Access to healthcare
